Hi all,
I just created a webservice using vb.net and connecting to a DB via DSN.
Once the webservice is created, Can I post the webservice on the same
Infopath server or the webservice needs to be on another server on my
network? I already tried sending the webservice (aspx file) to the server but
I get the following error:

The following file(s) have been blocked by the administrator:
ANYPATH/WEBSERVICEPAGE.asmx
Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services.

:-(

Hi Hector,
you can use 1 server for all the stuff you wanna do, no need for placing
stuff on different servers.

The error message for me sounds that you do not have permission to connect
yourself to your webservice.
Maybe you need to update the permissions...

btw. which db server are you using ?
and how to you use asmx ? Did you created that file with VS .Net ?
Tell us more from your software and hardware environment

cheers
Janko

Thx Janko,
The problem is that my development server is XP and I am running a web
server for testing purposes. I already have another server running sharepoint
and seems to be ok but I cannot upload asmx or aspx files to it. I know is
related to permissions but  I am new to infopath I am just trying to get
familiar.
Also, another problem that I am having is that I am using INFOPATH 2007 and
VB2005 to do code behind and don't have anybooks or articles on how to
control, update, or deal with INFOPATH fields thru code.
