Is InfoPath a replacement for Word templates & custom menus?

This is just a general question regarding the use of InfoPath. We currently
use Office/Word 2000 and have hundreds of templates and custom menus to run
the templates.

If we upgrade to Office 2007 we lose the ability to create the custom Word
menus. Would InfoPath be a good replacement method of creating & accessing
the templates? Most of them have macros in them that run when a new document
is created from the template. I haven't used InfoPath, just read a bit about
it. Does it have a UI that would organize the templates into groups and
enable users to run them?

And would Sharepoint need to be a part of the equation?

Any info would be appreciated.

No, InfoPath is not meant to replace Word or Word templates. InfoPath is
meant to replace paper-based forms. While you could create forms in Word,
InfoPath offers you a way to rapidly (faster than in any other Microsoft
product) to put together a form containing fields in a rich user interface
with validation and all.

While you could use InfoPath for what you want to use it (you could develop
an entire application around one form), it is not meant to be used that way,
so I would not recommend it.

I haven't taken a look at Word 2007 closely enough to know enough about it,
but I think you can create your own menus by extending the Ribbon. Try
posting your question in the Word newsgroup about this.

Can uhelp me to prepare a financial statement final entries in an automated
format for Trading Profit and Loss Account and Balance sheet including
Liabilities and Assets. And also to give structure to an Invoice ie to be
printed in our Letter Head.Kindly be inform the results if its occure.
