Latest infopath blog post by Alnur Ali talks about the Document Information
Panel

http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2007/03/28/associating-a-custom-document-
information-panel-with-an-office-document.aspx

I have a custom DIP, have associated it with Normal.dotm and confirmed that
my custom panel is available in new documents when user accesses Properties.
I have configured this to ShowOnOpen as shown in the blog post and indeed
confirmed that my CustomXml is correct.

However the properties pane is not shown on Open or initial Save, as
expected.  Is there another Word setting required to be turned on/off to
enable showOnOpen?

Many Thanks,

Brian

I removed some other versions of the form hanging around and it seems to
load on Save & Open now?

Publishing of the form is pretty confusing and does not seem to work; I
routinely ended up with the wrong version of the form on the server.  Ended
up just xcopying my local version up to the server.  Also,  double clicking
on a local form seems to open that form plus one other random earlier
version?

As a first time user of InfoPath, first impressions are that it could use
some usability work. Anyone agree?
