Performance hit when connecting to Access DB

I have attempted to set up a primary data source to an Access DB that has
about 20K records. I've followed the instructions in this article:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA011199501033.aspx?. When I enter
the data to search for and click the Query button, InfoPath tells me
something to the effect that it's returned a large number of results and it
may take some time. I acknowledge the warning and persuade it to continue,
but the system never returns records. It seems to lock up.

Is there a limit to the number of records? If so, is there any way around
this performance issue? Thanks!

While I do not think that there is a limit on the number of records, there is
a limit on the amount of memory that is available on the machine. Try
reducing the amount of records returned and not automatically retrieving the
data when the form is opened. While this article
(http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb380251.aspx) applies to InfoPath
2007, some tips can also be used for InfoPath 2003.
