Can't customize Infopath template

I am trying to customize a standard Infopath template. I can't change
anything because most of the commands (e.g. delete) are disabled (greyed
out). The template is not protected and is in design mode, so what is the
problem?

Hi,

If we are getting the data from secondary data sources like xml and SqL
server , properties of fileds in data source will be disabled.
