What would be the preffered method for querying an SQL database and reporting
results in a precise/clear and formatted matter.  Is InfoPath the best
option, or is there other software's available that do a better job?

InfoPath works but it all depends on what the user has to do with the data
aferward.

I have done SQL queries in Excel, Front Page and Microsoft Reporting Services
