Merge Excel Data into Word Document

How do you merge Excel Data into a Word Document and keep the number format.  
E.G. 150,000.00.  When I merge it merges as 150000

Two ways:
There are apparently field formatting commands available in Word
or
in Excel use =TEXT(A1,"#,##0.00;-#,##0.00") [modifying this to suit your
preferred format]
