right click to select column. data menu. sort option is grayed. why?

( I thought it was because I had already sorted this spreadsheet. but
I created a new sheet, copied in a few columns of my problem sheet.
and I can sort on any column I choose to. )

I dont know enough to write protect, etc.

thanks,

-Steve

Two or more sheets could be "grouped".

Do you see [Group] next to the filename on Title Bar?

If so, right-click on a sheet tab and "ungroup sheets".

OR............

You may have inadvertantly protected the sheet.

Tools>Protection>Unprotect Sheet.
