it is Quite annoying as the TAB doesnt move to the next cell like usual

TAB button

May be scroll lock is on.  Turn it off.

Are you sure the Tab key does nothing?

Could be the sheet is protected.

Does the Tab key jump across many columns instead of one?

Do you have "Transition Navigation Keys" enabled at Tools>Options>Transition?

Disable if so.

HI

yes the ta key does nothing i enabled the transition and then the sheet
jumps multiple columns and then i disabled the transition and it does nothing.

the sheet is protected with a password but i cannot understand why this
would disable the tab key
