Why can't I see cell shading on worksheet?

I have never had this problem when working in Excel before. I have a new
laptop for work. I have not programed it myself our IT guy did.

I am able to format cell shading but I can't see the color or the change
unless I view print preview. It's bizarre. I am sure it is something simple
but I am not that advanced. I like to select a row of cells and highlight it
in a different color especially a header.

Help, please!

You turned on "High contrast" in the Operating system perhaps? (Control
Panel, Accessibility options, Display)
