I am using Excel 2007, but to make sure that anyone with an older version of
Excel is able to use it, I save as Excel 97-2003.  Recently, one particular
spreadsheet has stopped opening on Excel 2003, even though it works just fine
on computers that have Excel 2007.  I am still saving it as Excel97-2003
format, so I don't know why this is coming up.  The error it gives me is
"Microsoft Excel has stopped working" whenever I open this document on a
computer that has Excel 2003.

Wait a few minutes and someone will come along with a suggestion to go
to his website to try out his data recovery tool.
