I have the MS Office Disk and it seems this is a common missing file but
where can I find it so I can add the solver add-in.  Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

The Solver add-in is an XLA file type and is located in the following
directory:
C:\Program Files\microsoft office\OFFICE11\Library\SOLVER

There should be 2 files files in that folder for the SOLVER functions:

SOLVER.XLA
SOLVER32.DLL
