So when I select the cells with the mouse, I can't stop the selecting from
occuring...For example I want to select 16 cells. I left click on the mouse
and start moving the mouse around to cover the cells I need..no problem
there. Then, I try to right click again, but the mouse doesn't stop
selecting. I've tried everything but can't seem to get tit to stop/ I have to
shut down excel to keep it from going!
Adobe is doing the same thing, but word is not. Any advice?!?!?

Make sure you have neither EXT mode or StickyKeys enabled.

hi
because adobe is doing it also leads me to suspect that it may not be just
an excel issue. may be a mouse or windows issue.
gary has so good advise concerning excel but also try tapping the F8 key
when this symptom occurs.
also in windows goto control pannel> mouse> button tab. make sure that
clicklock is unchecked.
also how old is your mouse? the mouse does have machanical parts and some
times they stick.
also have you tried a different mouse?
also (a bit extreme) when was the last time you did any disk maintinence.
our IT guy says that over time, poor disk maintinence can cause "funny"
things to happen at odd times and places.
my thoughts
