I am finding it very difficult to change a series of American date format to
British dates  format in Microsoft excel 2003 worksheet. Help.

Have your dates come in as text? Please give more details, including
examples of the dates you import and the problems you are having.

You don't explain what difficulty you are having but on the assumption they
are correctly formatted dates it should be as simple as applying a custom
format of

dd/mm/yyyy for UK

or

mm/dd/yyyy for USA.
