After filtering a list, how do I save only the filtered result "as it is
shown" on
the same worksheet and discard the rest?  Please help...thanks.

After filtered, select the range press F5 - Special - Visivable cells only,
copy, and paste in a new sheet and save it. delete the old if you want

Thanks for the tip..I've just tried it...it works!  But I am still wondering
if there's a way to save the result on the same worksheet instead of copying
and pasting on a new worksheet.  If there is no such trick, I guess I will
just use F5 key.  Thanks.

Maybe you can filter on Custom>"Does not equal"

Then do the F5>Special>Visible cells only and Edit>Delete>Row

Thanks for the idea.  This way I can keep my header and footer of the
document....but this deletes the header "row" as well....but I can always
copy and paste another header row...thanks.

I am having difficulty telling when it will copy only the filtered and when
it copies everything.  I copied filtered data only selecting the entire sheet
so how do I switch that to copy the entire sheet?  Very user unfriendly.

to copy filtered results only try

F5 > Special > Visible cells only > Copy > Paste to a new worksheet

If you select entire worksheet after filtering, original data will be still
there hidden...
