I have a mail folder that contains one specific kind of message. And a rule
that sends that specific mail message into that folder.
Question: is there a way to exclude that mail folder from the "Play a
Sound" when new mail arrives feature?
I'm using WinXPpro and OL2002
Thanks, Mark Flynn
Not that I am aware of, its all or nothing when an e-mail arrives.

Remember that the e-mails comes arrives before the filter is executed on
it, so the "new mail" sound will play before the e-mail is routed to the
desired folder.

I can't remember what rules exist in 2k2, but, isn't there a Play a sound
action? Here's my thoughts:
1) Add 'Stop Processing More Rules' to the rule that moves messages.
2) Remove the New Mail sound
3) Create a rule that gets fired for all mail that plays a sound.
4) Make sure that rule is *below* the rule from step 1.
That would do what Mark wanted, I would think. Assuming that action is
there =) I know it is in 2k7.
