What the heck is "Outlook - Today"??? Just an hour or so ago I checked my
msgs and all was well and as it should be. I closed the program so it would
empty my deleted folder. Now, suddenly, I open OE by clicking my desktop icon
and I get "Outlook - Today". Not only am I not crazy about the aesthetics,
but it seems to have lost all my folders, and thus, all the crap I've saved.
I've done a system restore 3 times, taking it back to 1/1/07; I've run
msconfig and configged everything possible, can't, not only get back to my
previous version, I also can't locate all those folders and files I'd saved.
I have no idea what or how this happened. The only thing I did was update to
Media Player 11, which I also didn't like, so I uninstalled that. But that
shouldn't have affected OE. I wouldn't think.
Any ideas on how to get back to the previous format and locate all my lost
folders?
HELP!!!!

Outlook Today is the center of Outlook so to speak. It shows appointments,
events, some e-mail folders, etc.
You should be able to click on VIEW and select NAVIGATION PANE to see the
folders.

In addition to BTJustice;
Note that OE (Outlook Express) isn't the same as Microsft Office Outlook.
Also note that no combination of System Restore, msconfig, etc... will
affect Outlook data. These tools will only restore application files and
settings and are not a backup method for Outlook data, Word documents,
etc...

Outlook Today is part of Microsoft Outlook. Your message states that you
were opening Outlook Express however, which does not contain Microsoft
Outlook. Maybe you launched Outlook instead of Outlook Express?
