User profile and message store

Hi,

My OL message store has grown too big and since I'm logging on to a
domain controller these huge files get syncronized and copied every time
I log on / off to the network.

I have read that user profiles should be limited to around 20-30Mb and
this mean to me that the email message store cannot be stored in the
profile.

What is the preferred solution to exclude the message store from the
user profile but still have it copied (and backed up) on the server somehow.

I use a notebook and of course I want to be able to check my email when
being offline from the domain, but then it should be syncronized with
the copy on the server as soon as I reloging to the network.

Can I use GPOs to achieve this?  Please comment and give me some tips
for an elegant and 'correct' solution.

No they don't. By default pst-files are kept in the Local Settings folder
which doesn't get synchronized upon logon/logoff.

Leave the pst-file in that location or put it in a location that doesn't get
synced automatically. Install the pst backup add-in from Microsoft and
direct it to make a backup to your assigned networkshare.

GPOs doesn't have anything to do with this.
