Why does my sorting (e.g. in the inbox) always get reset?

I sort my emails according a certain column, but whenever I return to my
Inbox, the sorting is reset, it does not stick. The same is true with the
calendar, also with the selective coloring of my various types of
meetings.....the rules are accepted but when I close the calendar, everything
is set to white again.
Up to recently, this was not the case. How can I revert this again?

Reset the view on the folder and make the changes again. See if they stick
now.
