This just started happening when I switched from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007. When I try to import data from an Excel spreadsheet to create a contacts file, the import/export operation hangs at "importing data..." and then we get a "send error report" window. We don't get any feedback after sending the report. Outlook has to be restarted. Just as a test, I tried the export, and it failed also. They always worked in Outlook 2003. Any ideas? Thanks very much in advance. Have you named the range you wish to import in your Excel workbook? Yes, I did name the ranges. Also, I created a CSV comma delimited file and it failed in the same way. Ron, the accepted method is NOT TO IMPORT. Simply open Outlook 2007 and choose New from the File drop down menu, then Open Outlook Data File and browse to the Outlook.pst file that was used by Outlook 2003. > Yes, I did name the ranges. Charles, the OP is talking about importing from a spreadsheet. If he was trying to import from a pst file then your advice would have been quite correct!
