Is it possible to save a file inside of an Outlook contact or attach it to
the contact in some way. Essentially I am trying to scan in documents
received from various contacts convert them into .pdf and store them in one
place connected in some way to their outlook contact folder. Any help or
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Certainly is - in Outlook 2007 at least. Just open the contact and drag the
file to the Notes pane....

Yes, you can attach a file to any Outlook item except sticky notes. Use the Insert | File command or the paperclip icon.

Any chance that it is possible in Outlook 2003.

I have many contacts that I have attached excel spreadsheets with personal
calculations in OL07. I just today realized, that these ARE NOT UPDATED as
the excel sheet is.
If I open from the folder in my documents and edit the attachment, then save
it back to my docs with the same name, when I open the contact and open the
attachment from the notes, it is not updated. When I click properties, it
shows that the attachment is in temporary internet files!! +
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.Outlook\filename....
Is there a way to change this and have the files that are attached to
contacts be the updated ones?
I am astounded that this doesn't happen automatically!!
