I am running vista ultimate and office 2007, so i have a problem setting up my e-mails. I have a linux mail server, i created the e-mail address but now after setting up outlook with pop3 as my Incoming and smtp as my outgoing using same IP address ( Linux server IP address for the two i still cannot recieve internal/extenal e-mails but i am able to send only internally. So what is your problem with Outlook then? Your posts suggests you haven't finished configuring your Linux mail server yet.
