Login prompt on every message?

outlook 2003/exchange 2003, one user all of a sudden this morning, when they
open a message, it prompts them to log in to the mail server of the sender.  
Also, when they hit reply, the prompt comes up to log in to the senders mail
server.
It doesn't happen on every email, but most, you can cancel out of it and
things seem to work otherwise.
Very strange.

My first thought is that that particular client is having issues with its
domain membership.  What OS is it?  If the user logs into a different
workstation and uses Outlook do they see the same problem?  If a different
user logs into that workstation, does it show the same problem?
