why do I have double folders in my "favorite folders" outlook2003

for some reason I have 2 copies of the same folders displaying in my outlook
2003
anyone seen this or know how to change this setting.
I can email or post a snap shot of what it looks like.

If you look at the Folder List instead of just Mail, or Calendar (etc.), do
you see only one set of Personal Folders, or are there two that are identical?

In the favorite folders & All Mail folders, it shows double of each folder.
example Sent Items in Personal folder and also Sent Items. one email can
be copied in each folder. If I delete the e-mail in one of the folders it
will delete in each one.

please advise.

Sounds like your Outlook profile is corrupt. Create a new one via Control
Panel | Mail and see if that fixes the problem. Don't delete your original
profile until you're sure the new one works. If you need more help with
