Serious Outlook 2007 Issue

Good Afternoon folks,

Several weeks ago after obtaining Office 2007 Pro, installed all programs
successfully. So I proceeded to go to Outlook and configure my accounts.
Well, I tried configuring a Microsoft Exchange Server and it failed because
my corporate does not allow outside access to our emails. Well, I didn't know
that at the time, so I received a message saying 'could not connect to MS
Exchange Server".

So I proceeded to close out Outlook and re-open it, however after doing this
as soon as I open the application, it still tries to configure the same
account, quoting: "Cannot connect to MS Exchange Server" I say okay, well I
would like to set up a new account. The problem is....I can't....Since I
received this error message, it brings me to change the login information and
I cannot do anything else. Even canceling does not work as the application
will just exit....

Well, you may think re-installation will fix the problem. That didn't work
either as it seems like my "application data" is being saved onto the
computer. Well, after doing some several system maintenance and cleaning up
all unnecessary files, proceeded to try and open Outlook again and
unfortunately same results...

I'm using Vista Ultimate (64BIT)....Still trying to comprehend the new
operating system and I cannot even locate my "application data folder". I saw
an earlier error message that was given to me by Outlook pointing out where
the missing information is stored. I tried accessing it and still can't. Even
after toggling through 'hidden' files and such, I cannot locate the
dim-witted files. I can manually type in the directory
C:\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook, of course the folder will
open, however nothing is in there, same thing goes for the Microsoft
directory, the local directory, and the Appdata directory.

Can anyone please assist me in regarding this manner?

Try creating a new profile. Don't know anything about Vista but in XP it's
Control Panel-mail....

Reinstalling the application won't correct your problem, which is an inoperable mail profile. You need to create a new mail profile, using the Mail applet in Control Panel. As explained in my blog at http://turtleflock-ol2007.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!C1013F1F9A99E3D8!169.entry, because Mail applet is 32-bit, it's hard to find in Vista 64. You need to choose Additional Options, then View x86 Control Panel Icons . Alternatively, switch to the Classic view of the Control Panel and run the View x86 Control Panel Icons applet.

Obviously, since you can't access your Exchange account externally, you'll need to put in different account information this time.
