I am having a problem activating Avast! 4.7 home edition in Outlook
2003. Avast! 4 is listed in the Add-in Manager screen (along with one
other add-in) and I have checked the box next to it. I then hit
Install which brings me to a list of nine add-ins, but Advast! is not
one of those listed.

The Outlook/Exchange scanner on Avast says, "The provider is waiting
for a subsystem to start."

How can I activate this anti-virus program on OUtlook?

Thank you.

Why would you want to unless you intend to be a frequent visitor to these news groups to stop any AV annoying habit of sending/receiving multiple emails, blocked email transmission completely, etc.?  Do yourself a favor an do not enable your AV integration with Outlook.
