All my new e-mails are automatically being directed to my deleted items
folder.  I think I tried to delete an e-mail from my unread mail and somehow
it effected all my new incoming e-mails.

Look in Tools > Rules and Alerts... maybe you somehow accidentally set up a
rule to delete all your incoming mail?

I deleted all my rules and magically I am receiving e-mails in my inbox
again. I will rebuild my rules very carefully!  Thank you for your help.

I, too was having the same problem for over two weeks, but instead of
deleting all the Rules, I unchecked them one-by-one and then sent a test
email.  Located the suspect one and deleted it.  Will re-build more carefully
in the futre, but in years of using Rules, this is the first time I've had a
problem.
