What's the default form for that public folder? If it's ipm.post, try
changing it to ipm.note.

YOu mean they show up as post items instead of mail items. I think that's something that needs to be handled on the Exchange server that deals with that. (Changing the default form for the folder is not the solution.) Best to ask in the microsoft.public.exchange.admin group.
