Windows XP
Outlook 2002
Using application fine then suddenly ....
Seemingly unable to send or receive .. result is error message.
Unable to move mail item to folder response is Messaging interface has an
unknown error.
Definitely unable to receive but one mail recipient has my mail 19 times
even though the item is in the Out box.
Also XP will not go to any previous restore point - not sure if this is
connected to outlook problem.
The Mail server is working OK
help please

I am have Vista with OUtlook 2007, MSN is my server. I the last few days i
have sent out multiple copies with a photo attachment. I think I get that it
is due to the large file. So I have delted all sent files and copies of the
file on the server. NOw I can not send any e-mails to anyone. I get "the
server reported an error. The server responded "recondition failure"

That's "precondition failure", is best addressed with the help iof MSN
support, and which I believe you're already posting about in another thread.

I have fixed the problem with MSN os am able to send and receive mail. But I
still have not resolved the problem with mutiple e-mails being sent when I
send a large file. This problem has existed since I got  new dell with Vista
and office 2007 installed ( I get and download all updates)

Any help would be apprecitated.

Configure your antivirus scanner so that it does NOT touch outgoing mail or,
better yet, uninstall it and reinstall it without the email scanning
component.  You don't need it.  Increase your mail account's server timeout
value if it has one (on the Advanced tab of the account properties).  Make
sure your send/receive interval is no less than about ten minutes.

no, its just regular XP - nothing fancy
I have managed something by creating another (identical) email account which
has me operating and copied the contacts list across.
If I try copy the personal files across to new account it just brings the
same problems acrosss with it .... seemingly something to do with the Outbox?
and items stuck in there. Cannot delete or move anything - its a mystery.
So i am working
More worried now about not being able to do any kind of restore ... XP just
refuses to do it - tried every restored date going back months.
