Regardless if I change the preference under Options, Email Options, Advanced
E-Mail Options, "Show an envelope icon in notification area" the envelope
will NOT appear when a new email is received. I tried turning the option off,
restart the computer and Outlook, then re-select the option to turn it back
on and nothing will appear. The odd thing is it worked on this notebook for a
couple of years and for no reason stopped working. Everything else is fine
with Office 2003 for Students and Teachers edition I have on this PC. I tried
to contact Microsof online email support for this issure at no-charge but the
product ID, which is correct, is rejected by Microsoft as being incorrect.
Why? I don't have a clue. What do you expect after alll from Microsoft anyway
:-) That aside I could use some help as I've tried everything reasonable to
fix this and unreasonable too.

It does not work on web based HTTP mail. Could that be the reason?

Not sure what you're taliking about. It will not appear when Outlook 2003 is
running. I don't know what you're referring to "HTTP Mail".
