After writing a few new e-mails, the from field disappears from the new
composition window.  The short-term fix is to go to the Insert view and click
on "Show From".  However, this fix is not permanent and again I have to
repeat this procedure about once or twice daily.

In a new email, select View instead of Insert, Current View, customize
current view, Fields, Add the field "From."

Outllok Help says to do this in the Main Outlook window instead of a new
email. Read more here:

Mary,

Your suggestion (and subsequent link) describes how to change the view on a
given location within Outlook.  Unfortunately I cannot follow your directions
because what I'm looking for doesn't exist in a New E-Mail composition.

The link describes how to add/remove fields from a current view and save
those changes to that view.  However, it doesn't apply when composing (or
replying to) an E-Mail.  Thanks for trying, though.  I'm still looking for
answers.
