I have recently upgraded my MSO2K3 installation to 2007 on a Vista Ultimate platform. Every time i send a SINGLE email (by clicking on send / receive) the Outlook status bar in the BRHC reports. "Sending message 5 of 5". This behaviour is consistent and repeatable. Thoughts? Thanks Rod Some further info... This seems to be realted to the number of accounts set up in the system. I have removed 3 accounts and now the message says "Sending message 2 of 2". I also have some rules set up to copy mails to other folders. Outlook 2007 miscounts the number of outgoing messages when you have multiple accounts. It's not, however, actually trying to send too many messages. SignatureBrian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] Email even from home users needs to be auditable. If I send 12 messages, I expect my mail program to properly report that number. Otherwise, I don't trust it. That would be one way to detect that something is sneaking messages (stealing my info, bandwidth, etc.?) out. As a matter of security, all email products (esp. a flagship product like Outlook) should provide a method to journal header info on all messages (including the various read receipts, handshakes, etc.) sent and received. Being a mainframe system's programmer for 30 years, where in the mainframe world, nothing is hidden from the the system's programmers, and everything is expected to be RAS (Reliable, Available, and Secure), period. I should have noticed that it was from Microsoft. Yes, I trust Microsoft as much as I trust IBM, HP, etc. They all have a public image that they want to maintain. All are trying to maximize their profits , but you better read the fine print in their agreements, etc. Of course, bad behavior slips into even these companies, but they tend to get corrected. Do you trust Microsoft? The utility seems to be for an Exchange environment (which I'm not), but I tried executing it anyway. The logon screen has the word NULL and it does not proceed for there.
