When opening either mail or calendar after initialally working I get a
message that the program is not responding.  I can wait for 4-5 mins then it
works or turn off and restart.  I am running Windows Vista and have
sucsessfully used Office for about three months.  Have tried to repair,
defragged and everything possible (have updated everything!) please help

Did "everything possible" include creating a new mail profile?

Does it work properly if you open Outlook in Safe mode?  Click the Start
button, then Run, and type in

outlook.exe /safe

(note the space between the filename and the switch)

Also, how big is your .PST file?  Even though the Unicode format .PST files
can hold a very large amount of data, the larger they are, the slower Outlook
runs.

Sorry, I just realized the command to open Outlook in safe mode is slightly
different in Vista than in Windows XP (which I'm running)...click the Start
button, then All Programs, then Accessories, then Run.
