Many of my display names have "disappeared".
When I look at the contact detail the information is there, but when I try
to select a name from the list to send an e-mail nothing is there

Which list are you referring to and which version of Outlook are we talking
about here?

Thank you for your interest
I am using Outlook 2007
the "list" that I refer to is "select names:Contacts, which comes up when
you select the To: button when writing a new e-mail

You mean the field is completely empty for the entire list?

Again, Thank you for your interest.
No the entire list is not blank, only about 1/2 of the names. these names
have always had display names showing in the past and they each have display
names showing in the contact detail screen, just not in the select names
contacts: list

Could it be that these are additional entries for the same contacts?
Like a second email address or a fax number?

If this is not the case you see if it works with a new mail profile;

(Unfortunately, unlike previous versions of Outlook, Outlook 2007 doesn't
allow you to only remove and re-add the Outlook Address Book service)
