How do I know which message I am previewing?  when I click on the message and
scroll through it on the list of emails in my inbox the one I am viewing is
not highlighted and I know it should be.

version of outlook?

it should be highlighted but may be off the screen if you've read a few
messages as the message list won't move.

Outlook 2003.  I have the list of read messages on the left and my email
preview on the right.  The message I'm previewing and scrolling through
should be indicated on my list of emails in my inbox but it's not.
