A virus caused my shortcut groups in outlook to multiply.  I have thousands
of them to delete.  How can I delete them more quickly than 1 at a time.

Move them into a group and then remove the group.
You can also opt to reset your Navigation Pane;
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /resetnavpane

I doubt that it was caused by a virus though. Which one did you have?
