"The data file was not closed properly. The file is being checked for
problems." This outlook error message has been referenced in this discussion
group since at least 3/1/2007. There have been no suggestions in the group
that have properly fixed the problem. A search of the knowledge base on
microsoft.com does not even turn up a mention of this problem. Are any
Microsoft reps monitoring this site? It seems that 5 months would be enough
time to come up with a solution if they were paying attention.
That issue has been around since day 1, together with a fix.
The error means that Outlook was forced to shut down. This usually happens
when Outlook crashes, was not shut down before shutting down the computer or
wasn't able to close because an add-in kept it open.
