I just installed my old version of Office on my new computer. I haven't
upgraded my office software because I'm comfortable with the one I have (MS
Office 2000 Premium).  Everything is working fine except that I can't send
e-mail.  I'm receiving my mail ok, but when I go to send it says "An error
occured while attempting to open the Windows Address Book.  Unable to find
the WAB DLL.  The address book on my new computer is under contacts (I now
have Vista).  Is there any way to fix this without buying Office 2007?

I also just found out that I can't set appointments or contacts either...I
get the same message.

That is a known compatibility issue with Outlook 2000 on Windows Vista which
won't be addressed since it is out of mainstream support (in general for
Office this means older than 5 years).

Configuring Outlook in Corporate/Workgroup mode (CW mode) will enable you to
work around the issue. Most likely you now have it configured in Internet
Mail Only mode (IMO mode).
