I can change the CC and the TO and the BCC.  I do not know how to change the
FROM?

Are you using multiple POP3 (Internet) mail accounts or are you using an
Exchange Server? Also, which version of Outlook are you using?

I have one exchange account and one POP3 account.  All outgoing mail is
routed through my exchange server.  I want to set up a different default
signature for each account.

That's done on Tools>Options>Mail Format.  You choose the account with the
Accounts button, not with the From field.  The From field is used by
delegates of others' mailboxes to choose which Exchange mailbox is being
used.  It is not used to select between Exchange and POP accounts.

Does this work differently in Outlook Express?  I thought you could simply
change the FROM by selecting a different identity in the pulldown.

In Outlook Express you also use the Accounts button to choose the sending
account.  However, if you're using an Exchange account you cannot be using
Outlook Express, since Outlook Express has no support for Exchange accounts.
And if you are using Outlook Express, you're in the wrong newsgroup.

Ouch, Brian.  That hurts.  I'm just trying to replicate functionality.  To
simplify the question, I just mentioned one exchange account and one POP3
account.  I seriously have dozens of POP3 accounts that I have to manage
continuously.  All POP3 accounts use Exchange to send mail.  If I have a
message that comes to one of my POP3 accounts and need to reply to it, I
would like Signature A to be the default.  If I have a message that comes to
a different POP3 account and need to reply to it, I would like Signature B to
be the default.  This is easily accomodated in Outlook Express.  How do I do
it in Outlook?  I have licenses to Office XP and Office 2003 and Office 2007.
I'll pick any version you recommend.  Please think "out of the box".  Is
there an Outlook "solution"?  Thanks for your patience.

It wasn't intended to hurt.  Sorry.

I believe I already stated that.  Per-account signatures can be set up on
Tools>Options>Mail Format for OL 2003 and, while I'm not at my OL 2007
system right now so I can verify, I think it's in the same place.  You MUST,
however, set up a default signature for EVERY account, even if it's nothing
more than a single space character.  OL 2002 and earlier don't have
per-account signatures.

Change it to what?  Why do you want to change it?

Configure whatever you want to use in the E-mail Address and E-mail
Name in whatever accounts you have defined in Outlook.
