how can I erase an outgoing file if started sending?

I tried to send an email thru outlook and the attachements were too large to
be sent and now I can not erase the message because there's an error that
says that outlook have stared sending the message

Put Outlook in offline mode, exit Outlook, load Outlook, delete, put
back in online mode.
