Hi - This is a Outlook 2003 question. I have a quick question about spell
checking. I have turned off the "Word As E-Mail Editor" option so that I can
use some stationary that I have downloaded. However, I notice that the words
that I accidentally misspell are no longer underlined to let me know what
needs correcting. I know that I can spell check by manually clicking on
"Tools/Spelling" but I liked it underlining my mistakes as I went along. Is
there any option that I can change to make this more like it used to be
(other than re-selecting word as the e-mail editor)? I have "always suggest
replacements for misspelled words" checked and also have "use auto correct
when word isn't the e-mail editor" checked but the words don't auto correct
even when I intentionally type a word wrong that is in the list to auto
correct. I probably could check the option to spell check before sending but
I was wondering if there were any other options. Thanks!
word is required as the editor for inline spell checking. why won't the
stationery work if word is the editor?

Thank you for your response. What happens if I make Word the editor it
notifies me that "The application is about to initialize ActiveX controls
that might be unsafe..." Then I have to pick whether or not to allow the it
to run or not. I just pick "No" because I don't want to take a chance in
using anything that isn't safe for my computer. The stationery comes up but
it has a big red X at the top. I don't know if there is anything that I can
do to fix this while not taking a chance at running something that may be
unsafe. Thanks for any help you can give!

open the stationery file in notepad - see what is causing the big red x.

Thanks for your reply. I took a quick look in notepad but I don't know
anything about the coding that it takes to create stationery so I don't know
what I'd be looking for. The X is only there when I try to use the
stationery when Outlook is set up with Word as the editor. Otherwise the X
is absent.
