We have a script running in UNIX which generates the mail in plain text to
the customers. Customers are able to receive and view the mail in proper
format (in outlook 2003). A few customers have migrated to Outlook 2007 and
they are receiving the mail in which the alignment of the content is not
proper.

Care to elaborate on that? If it is hard to explain in text you might want
to use screenshots.

Roady, I also tried out the following things in outlook 2007,
Tools->options->Mail Format->Stationeries and Fonts->Fonts
I changed the existing Font for 'composing and reading plain text' to 10pt
Courier New as it was the default settings in outlook 2003. But I couldn't
find any effect in the mail cotent(present in inbox) by this change. I
Forwarded the same mail( by changing the font as courier New for the entire
content) from outlook 2007 to my ID and opened the mail in outlook 2007. This
time the report content looks perfect.

Which help do you still need at this point? You've obviously found the
issue. You can never assume that the receiver uses a fixed-width font to
display Plain Text. In that sense you should also never build your
formatting on that assumption. You can use HTML formatted messages if
formatting is important for displaying your message.
