How do I get messages to open maximized?

For some reason, every time I click to open a message or reply to one or send
a new message, they are opening up in a little size which I then have to
maximize. How do I tell Outlook to open these windows maximized?

Don't use the "maximise" button. DRAG the window to the correct size.
