'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP)
server.
If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator
or Internet service provider (ISP).
The server responded: 553 From: address not verified;

It sounds as though you are trying to send something via the Yahoo SMTP
server, but the server won't accept mail with your "From" address because it
hasn't been "verified" as per the link.

But, it also sounds as though you are saying that your Outbox empties out
after a send operation.  Is that the case?

Yahoo appears to have added an anti-spam check that what you put in
the From header in your outbound e-mails matches up with your
<username>@Yahoo.co.uk e-mail address for your account with them.
Make sure the E-mail address field in the account defined in Outlook
matches the e-mail address for your Yahoo account.

Your e-mail address should match in your outbound messages to the
e-mail address of the account through which you send them.  If you
want users to reply to a different e-mail address than from where you
send those message, specify a non-blank string in the Reply-To field
in the account defined in Outlook.
