microsoft outlook to windows mail

I've bought a new computer with Vista on it, and want to import all my e-mail
into windows mail from my messages on my old computer which had microsoft
outlook. I'm getting an error message, the problem seems to be the MAPI files
as opposed to PST files. Any ideas as to how I can get around this?

On your old computer use Import from within Outlook Express and then
transfer the dbx-files to Windows Mail.
