Junk e-mail - Level of protection keeps getting re-set

Hi

I use Outlook 2007 & Vista Home premium. The Updates are set to manual
although I install all upgrades/updates usually a day or so after
notification. I use SpamBayes to manage my Spam, AVG for virus control, Zone
Alarm for Firewall, and Counterspy for Malware. All are set to automatic
updates.

Because of this, I do not want to use Office's Junk-email filtering, as I am
perfectly happy with how Spambayes manages it, it suits my way of working,
and I'm used to it.

I had thought that I had set my Junk-email to "No Automatic Filtering", and
it worked fine until the last few days (that I have noticed). I then
discovered that my junk filtering level was set to "Low". I changed it and
forgot about it. The next day I found it was still on "Low". I assumed I
hadn't re-set it, and so just set it back to "No Automatic Filtering".

Now a few days later, I am at the stage where it seems to re-set itself
almost automatically. When I check I now invariably find it is set to "Low".
I change it to "No Automatic Filtering". If I shut Outlook, then re-open it,
it shows "No Automatic Filtering". A couple of hours later when I next check,
it will be showing "Low".

I do not use Safe senders, safe recipients, blocked senders or any of the
international blocking. I did have the option” Also trust email from my
contacts" set, but I disabled it a few days ago. No change.

I cannot identify any event or timing that would give a hint as to what is
re-setting this option.

I've searched with Google, I've searched this group, and there are lots of
similar problems (but no definitive solutions that I've found), but I cannot
find this exact problem anywhere.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Colin
