What does the arrow and envelope mean located to the left of the senders name?

Open envelope means you have read the message. Arrow can mean you replied to
it or forwarded it depending on what the arrow is. Blue arrow to right =
forwarded. Purple arrow to left = replied. Purple arrow to left and double
envelope = replied to all.
