Can Outlook 2003 support incoming MIME-formatted email?

Thanks.

The question should have been the following: occasionally I receive MIME
formatted messages that are not recognized. Is there an option or preference
that could be set that would cause this?

The most likely cause is prior to you receiving it.  Outlook is, in my
experience, fairly picky about how closely to standards the MIME message
conforms.  If the sender's client isn't quite as picky and sends our
something Outlook doesn't recognize and proper MIME, you'll see the raw
encoding.  That said, there is also an issue with Outlook 2003 on a Vista
machine failing to decode the message when the message was addressed via
Bcc.

I think you hit it...I am using Vista + Outlook 2003 and the messages in
question are addressed via BCC. Previously, using XP + Outlook 2003, there
was no problem.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to resond. I appreciate it.

I reported the OL 2003/Vista problem to my Microsoft contact a few weks ago.
We'll see whether or not it gets addressed.

I think I'm getting the same problem.  Is there a knowledge base entry for
this yet?

I am having the same problem or  with Outlook 2003 and vista I think it is.
And it is with only one contact so far.  Instead of seeing it normal, I see
the codes jumbled with the words.... not fun to try and read and i don't want
to keep deleting my friends email w/o reading.
It start when I got a sony viao (which are not worth the money - just my
opinion)  that had sony take off vista t but stoped when I went to back to
XP.  I just bought a new computer, and unfort. it runs vista too. so I am
back to the same problem.
Does anyone know how to fix this?  I have gone through all the setting etc.
I am not computer stupid either...been tinkering with computers since they
were 386.... I know all the versions of windows and office... but this has
baffled me.
Please help...

I re-read the bulletin and will try having my friend resend the email with me
not in the BCC box, hopefully it will work
