I have been using Outlook 2003 for some time now and just recently a problem
has developed where I cannot open forwarded e-mail attachments.  I can open
any other type of attachment (e.g., ppt files, Excel file, .doc files, etc.)
but, if the attachment is another e-mail (as indicated by the envelope icon)
I cannot open it unless I first exit Outlook and then reactivate in Outlook
safe mode.

I have also noted that there are many other inquiries in this discussion
group from people who are having the same problem.  This suggests that there
is actually a problem in Outlook that may have been generated by an update OR
there is some option setting that we are all unaware of.

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP???

Are you running Google Desktop? Disable the email integration or uninstall it.

The response to the original poster was to disable Google Desktop Search
integration with Outlook or to upgrade to the latest version, but that was
close to a year ago. Does this even apply to your circumstance?
