combining contact lists

A friend of mine has Outlook 2003 containing  two lists for contacts which
are his main list + one called 'more contacts" and would like to combine
them without having duplicates.  So the question:  is there a way to move
the 'more contacts' into the main list without making dupicates?

typing "detect duplicates outlook contacts" in google found me a mass of
hits.
